Happy weekend, everybody!

We’re excited to finally have a weekend at home. It feels like all summer we’ve been driving this way and that, visiting friends and family and attending lots of weddings. This weekend, people are coming to us, so we can just relax. And we got quite the basket this week, highlights of which include:

Farmer's Market/CSA Series {Week 11} | Things I Made Today

Starting from the top left:

  • These beautiful carrots that deserve only one treatment: roasting. And maybe a little yogurt sauce.
  • Our first leeks which I’m thinking will go nicely with a shrimp and grits recipe I’ve been meeting to get posted here.
  • Another batch of baby red potatoes. I’m tempted to make this paprika-spiced potato salad again.
  • A healthy dose of spicy arugula which I’m dumping into this sweet potato and pancetta dish.
  • The sweetest and cutest little bell peppers! Oh man, for those of you who know how much I love to feel like a giant, you could only imagine how excited I was (see additional photos below). We’ll see what becomes of these guys.
  • And finally, some more patty pan squash to be added to a nice kale and feta salad I’ve been dreaming up.
  • We also got many more heirloom tomatoes and cherry tomatoes, but I’ll spare you the repetitiveness!

But seriously, take a look at this bell pepper:

And I swear, my intent was not to look evil in this picture. Just like a giant.
