pizza dough for one pizza (I love Trader Joe's whole wheat dough)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 500.
Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large pan. Add onions and sugar and cook until they turn dark brown and start to caramelize. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, and stir in balsamic. Reduce heat to low and cook for about 5 additional minutes so balsamic reduces and thickens.
Roll out pizza dough and place onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Spread ricotta over the crust, top with onions, and then with slices of prosciutto.
Bake until crust is golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
