This should technically be week 18, but we missed the last two baskets due to travel.

Apparently, we dipped into fall vegetables those weeks (acorn and spaghetti squashes, turnips, and other root vegetables). But this week, with the weather holding on it the 70s, it seems like we’re back into some of the late summer produce we’ve seen already.

I’m okay with that, but I have to say, I want me some root vegetables pretty soon here. Here’s what we got this week:

Farmer's Market/CSA Series {Week 16} | Things I Made Today

And here’s what my plans are:

  • I’m finally just going to make an apple and kohlrabi slaw. I keep trying to overcomplicate kohlrabi and not loving it. Let’s see what happens when we keep it simple.
  • These wonderful carrots are perfect for a carrot romesco and pork recipe that’s been on the list for quite some time.
  • Some cilantro can always be sprinkled on top of every dish.
  • A large head of cauliflower will make a lovely cauliflower gratin with monray sauce (think béchamel, but better).
  • Then we’ve got red onions which as always find their way into salads and into frying pans.
  • Some baby kale will go nicely into this stuffed acorn squash recipe I want to remake and rephotograph.
  • Since I’m out of town this weekend, I’m guessing these potatoes will be gone before I get home.
  • And last but not least, the most delicious blackberries I’ve ever eaten. They have already been consumed.

I’m happy to get back into the kitchen with lower temperatures outside! What are you cooking this week?
