After almost a full week of cabin living, we’re back to our big modestly-sized city.

I’m feeling relaxed and refocused, although happy to sleep in my own bed and not permanently smell like campfire. The weather was good to us: it was warm and breezy and the mosquito bites were minimal, which I would say makes a stay in the woods a great success.

This week’s CSA basket is loaded with goodies, but I’ll share the highlights with you guys.

Farmer's Market & CSA Series {Week 10} | Things I Made Today

My plans this week:

  • This blog needs more smoothies in it’s archives. I’m going for a green version with celery, cucumbers, apple, lime juice, and pineapple juice. Not into juicing your celery? Use it to top off a paprika spiced potato salad, as a filler for a chilled pea mint soup, or in this orzo pilaf with sausage. As for the cucumbers, mix them with beets, basil, and feta.
  • The big head of tendersweet cabbage is really great in a slaw, but I’m all about grilling cabbage these days. I’ll be making mine with an anchovy vinaigrette, because you can never have too many anchovy recipes.
  • The patty pan squash just won’t stop coming! I’m going to be stuffing these with some black beans, corn, and feta cheese, among other things. You can always chop and saute for a nice simple side dish or make them into a salad with chickpeas and herbs.
  • This batch of potatoes is getting roasted with figs. Because why not. And there are a million other things you can do with them.

Not pictured are all of the greens and basil from the CSA, because there simply isn’t enough space. What are you cooking this week?
