it’s officially public: i quit my job a month ago and have been working on starting my own organizing coaching business.

last friday, i launched the website for grid organizing. the website was made by my sister and her boyfriend matt (of also). while the concept was well developed before we started, the photography (which is an integral part of the site) still took about 12 hours to do.

yup. you heard me. 12 hours.

well, there is the setting up of equipment and getting the lighting right. that took about 3 hours in and of itself.

then there is the actual arrangement of the tiny objects that i chose to represent different forms of organization (pasta, peas, screws, colored pencils, and so on). see anything in common with these items? they all roll. and while the cords (pictured above) don’t exactly roll, they roll over. close enough.

i realize by normal standards you shouldn’t think of photography as a work out, i can safely say i had sore muscles from standing awkwardly over a hip-level surface and using tweezers to move around tiny things.

dehydration and sore muscles aside, i’m super excited about how the website turned out. so check out the website, spread the word, and if you like what you see, connect with me on facebook to get all the latest info.

and just for fun, here’s the progression of the photographs for the home page. also i’m never eating pasta again:
