this saturday, i had the pleasure of visiting monches farm.

even though the windchill was somewhere near zero, we braved the cold and walked around the beautiful farm, sampled all the treats available, and came home with a bag full of cookbooks, presents, jams and jellies.

i can (and probably will) tell you stories about all the other things we bought, but let’s focus on the jelly for now.

specifically, let’s focus on this honey lemon jelly that goes so nicely on fresh ricotta and a little bread. it is made by maria of the farm kitchen, a friend of my in-laws. everything she creates is made from scratch, packaged by hand, and sold at various markets throughout WI. they also ship to other places, if you’re interested from far away.

it will surprise absolutely no one that i ate at least a quarter of this jar with a spoon and nothing else. it is to die for, but even more so when combined with the creamy cheese and crusty bread.
